I downloaded the latest version on Ash Maurya ‘s book Running Lean. I read it over 6 months ago but now we are more into the whole lean methodology and I read Eric Ries’ Lean Startup book recently also Ash’s book made more sense. When reading Nail it then Scale it from Paul Ahlstrom, then Eric Ries Lean Startup I wanted to get working on metrics for Reedge. I came up with the following findings (below) only to find out that Ash actually gives a valuable insight on how to measure a idea in the very early stages. You should get Ash’s book! It will cost you one tweet you will... Read more

Measure Lean Startup Metrics

After I got hooked on the Lean Startup Methodology from Eric Ries I figured we need to go back to the basics with Reedge and figure out what makes our clients happy clients and how can we really learn faster and more objective and find the perfect product market fit. The problem with this Lean thought is that even though Eric Ries new book Lean Startups is good, it does not give me a template or format on how to measure our growth. It says you have to pick metrics and monitor changes, but what metrics should we take. Here is my thought on what we could use as metrics for... Read more

Free Conversion Advice for Omnistar Affiliate Software

Clients keep asking I love to refer people but is there also a referral program for Reedge. After several months of hearing this today it was on top of my to-do list. I selected Omnistar Affiliate Software for its integration with Batchblue CRM and a decent starting price of $27 usd. Sign-up went smooth even if they do not accept my last name "van der Heijden" since it has these weird spaces in it, the online SaaS system does not seem ready for my weird spaces so I accepted that I now am "Vanderheijden" for Omnistar. Then only to find out next I got a free trial with my credit card, I can... Read more

Cross Domain A/B Testing

How do you AB test a new tagline when you have 800 hotel websites and only a handful of visitors on each site? That was what Michael Giles, CEO of iWannaGo.co Travel Site Network was asking himself when searching for a way to improve his network of travel websites. “We run over 2000 websites that funnel leads for hotels, car rentals and flights to our lead partners, but improving the websites is difficult when you have only a handful of visitors on each site per day” says Michael. Reedge offered a solution by assisting iWannaGo in its import of thousands of domains in one single... Read more

We decided to include two hours of personal optimization training for all Marketer, Business and Agency members. This promotion is valid only for July and August 2011 and is aimed to give clients and extra boost during the slower vacations months. The training will consist of a pre-analysis of the main conversion pages of the client website and a two hour session using desktop sharing tools to interactively setup tests that are aimed to increase conversion. In my experience personal sessions have led to a better understanding of the testing process and we usually are able to identify... Read more

Reedge Speed Improved

After the launch on May 16, 2011 we got a lot of feedback from users that sign-up on paid accounts and told us they would like a faster loading of the monitoring JavaScript for their sites. We could not agree more, the old code and distribution was fitting for a ‘in beta’ project but not for a professional service. We made switched from S3 distribution of our JavaScript code to a Content Distribution Network (CDN) on June 22 and added gzip compression support to the code. We got between 8x to 15x increase in speed (800%-1500%) so that was a significant boost for the client sites over... Read more

Google +1 Already Replaced Digg

On day one of having Google +1 I see many sites placing it on their posts. Tech-media are skeptical but the massive amount of people using Google services and have a login ad hand is just to huge to ignore. Add to this the fact that Google admits it will influence the search results over time… well since 75% of most traffic of North America is coming from Google Search, they already have a winner. But when revising the buttons on each post, we and most other websites also revise the rest of these. We had Twitter, Facebook, StumbleUpon, Digg. Breaking down the figures… sorry Digg your...
